Beamsplitters are used for separating a beam of into a reflected and transmitted. Beamsplitters can be manufactured to split a light beam into a various ratios, and usually specified as 50/50 or 25/75 ratios (25%R/75%T) or (25%T/75%R).
These plate beamsplitter are considerably cheaper and weigh less than traditional cube beamsplitters. They are available in most cases as visible and NIR and Telecom wavelengths. Most of the surplus plate beamsplitters have a dielectric multilayer coating offering excellent durability and neutrality. The rear of the beamsplitters are BBAR coated which eliminates spurious reflection.
